Jr. User Experience Designer

Codal’s UX team is searching for a junior User Experience Designers for our Chicago office. In addition to a strong background in designing for business and consumer-facing brands, our ideal candidate will have the following:

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work with the senior UX designers conceptualizing, designing and planning future-state and near-term cross channel experiences (journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes)
  • Helping develop frameworks, product prioritization, models, etc. that help drive strategic consideration of the desired customer experience
  • Work closely with product and business teams to plan stages of digital feature implementation in the roadmap/release cycles
  • Document experiences in deliverable formats as needed based on project and feature team requirements (sitemaps, wireframes, flows, etc.)
  • Apply user-centered design methodologies to ensure ideas are accessible and based on customer needs.
  • Participate in and/or proctor qualitative research studies (contextual research, cultural probes, in-person and remote interviews etc.)
  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, including product ideation and definition, user research, feature team scoping/planning, estimating effort, design, post-launch evaluation and stakeholder communication

Requirements / "Must Haves"

  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates the process of user interface design, including sketching, workflows, storyboards, user profiles, personas, wireframes, and any other prototypes of varying fidelity
  • Experience in using UX design best practices to craft solutions
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns
  • Qualitative customer research and reporting
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision
  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in modern design tools (eg. Sketch, InVision, Principle, Adobe CC).
  • Working knowledge of iOS and Android material design language is a plus.
  • E-Commerce experience is a plus.
